Comparison: Past vs. Present

Here we highlight the differences & similarities between today's Sprint cars & those of yester year.

The largest difference, apart from appearance, is horsepower. In the early days of Sprint car racing a car had anywhere form 150 - 200 h.p. Today these powerful machines dyno at over 800 h.p.! This helps to explain their name: "Sprint Cars". These cars are designed to go real fast, real quick for relatively short distances, "Sprint" races.

Following the comparison below we have included a few additional photos of present day cars to better illustrate the differences & very few similarities of these purpose built racing machines.
